Toe the line

Somehow, this just seems a lot easier.

I guess changing fishing line on a spinning reel is a necessary evil of saltwater fishing. After just a couple ventures, my reels looked like they were coated with baby spit-up. Sure, I hosed down my equipment after use, but it didn’t seem to matter.

Oh yeah, I had another reason to change line. When I first arrived in Southwest Florida, I requested 30-pound test when I purchased my new Penn reel. I soon discovered that most fishermen use that gauge for leaders. Guess I was dreaming of sumo-sized fish. Anyway, oversized line and salt deposits meant operating my reel was like casting crusty coaxial cable. Time to switch.
