Every so often we go through periods in our sporting lives that get interrupted by other activities. These interruptions could be caused by other family members, medical issues, household chores — any number of things. This was pretty much the story of my past fishing season. This year, I plan to rededicate myself to spending more time on the water and working to better my fishing skills for the upcoming tournament season.

Don’t get me wrong — I have no regrets about the time that I have missed on the water. My wife underwent some surgical procedures this past year. My daughter has us traveling all over the USA playing soccer, and around Florida playing golf. When I stop and think about it, I am happy that I got to fish and be out on the water as much as I did considering the schedule we kept in 2012.
