At the top of the list of accessories that most inshore fishermen want on their boat is a trolling motor. These handy little electric motors, usually mounted on the bow of a boat, can get you into that special fishing spot through the shallowest water quietly and cleanly.
The electric trolling motor was first introduced by O. G. Schmidt, a North Dakota inventor, in 1934. Mr. Schmidt built his electric motors in Fargo, which is close to the Minnesota/North Dakota border, hence the Minn Kota Company was born.
