Saturday was a tough day of fishing for the anglers of the Women’s Professional Tarpon Tournament Series as they fished their fifth and final event of the year, the Silver King Classic.
With tarpon apparently having begun their annual dispersal from Boca Grande Pass already, the bite was slower than at tournaments a few weekends ago. Tarpon utilize the Pass as a staging location for offshore spawning, and once the spawn is over, the fish spread out along the beaches and into Charlotte Harbor.
