VHS football drops to 6A, joins tough district
The Venice High football team is moving down a classification, from 7A to 6A, but the move could make the Indians’ path to the playoffs a tougher hike.
With a projected enrollment of 1,868 in 2013, Venice High fell below the 1,925-student floor necessary to retain 7A status. While the school has the option to petition the FHSAA and ask to be moved back into a 7A district, Venice High Athletic Director Pete Dombroski said the Indians will remain at 6A.
