Nick Longhi and Cooper Hammond have dreamed about making the major leagues someday. Wednesday, the Venice High standouts moved one step closer as they signed their national letters of intent to play Division I baseball.

Longhi, a first baseman, signed with LSU while Hammond, a submarine right-handed pitcher, made it official with the University of Miami.
