James R. Stewart Jr., age 87, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013.
He was born Oct. 4, 1925, in Indianapolis, Ind., the son of the late James Sr. and Carrie (Martin) Stewart. James served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Bath Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Hammel. James is survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley; three children, Bonnie L. Stewart-Baker of Venice, Fla., James III (Sue) Stewart, Ohio, of Fairborn, Ohio, and Joyce (Mark) Baudendistel of Medway, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Rick Intemann, Chad Stewart, Sarah Intemann, Kevin Intemann, Shannah Loper, Krista Loper and Jacob Conner; three sisters, Ernestine Fleming, Flora Mae Johnson and Virginia Koogler; as well as other extended family.
Services: A funeral service will be held Thursday Sept, 26, at 11 a.m. at Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 East Dayton-Yellow Springs Road, Fairborn, Ohio. The family will receive friends from 10: a.m. until the time of service. Burial with military honors will follow in Willow View Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
