Glenn Jenkins, age 85 of Nokomis, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013. He was born on Sept. 4, 1927, in Wauchula, Fla..

Mr. Jenkins was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. He also was a past commander of American Legion Post 159 in Venice.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 63 years, Laura, and his four children, Glenda Lee Dafft of Houston, Texas, Audie Douglas Jenkins and Sandra Jenkins, both of Austin, Texas, and Scott Jenkins of Venice. He also leaves behind four grandchildren.

Services: There are no services planned at this time, per the family’s request. Burial will be held in Venice Memorial Gardens. Farley Funeral Home, Venice, is handling the arrangements.
