Dennis L. Dale, 72, of Venice, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013.

He was a member of the Moose and the American Legion. He owned and operated Dennis L. Dale Excavating Inc. for more than 40 years.

Dennis’s father immigrated from Norway in 1916. He is survived by his wife, Shelley, of Venice; daughters, Teresa Perkins and Kristin Dale, both of Sarasota; brothers, Ken Dale of Sarasota and Merritt Dale of Fairmont, Minn.; sisters, Jean Kjos and Ella Carlson of Fairbault, Minn.; and grandchildren, Colleen Albritton, Thomas Albritton and Tyler Rasmussen, all of Tampa, James Dale of Sarasota and Brian Dale of Spokane, Wash.

Services: A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Ewing Funeral Home.
