Timothy Ray Riggs, 57, of Augusta, Maine, and Venice, passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013.

Tim was born Nov. 3, 1955, in Noblesville, Ind., son of Thomas Riggs and Joan (Riggs) Byers.

He graduated from Greenwood High School, attended Seminole Community College and became a carpenter.

He lived for many years in Venice and loved the Gulf beaches. Tim was a kind-hearted man who loved nature, had a smile for everyone he met and also had sly sense of humor.

Tim is survived by his children, Adam Lawrence Riggs, Julia Marie Riggs, Sarah Elizabeth Riggs and Rebekah Joan Riggs, and their mother, Laura Riggs, all of Apopka, Fla., and his parents, Thomas Riggs (Priscilla) of Englewood, Fla., and Joan Byers of Ponce Inlet, Fla.

Tim is also survived by his siblings, Peggy Marie Linton (Marc), Susan Kay Cone (Andrew), Garrett Riggs, Teresa Kaufman and Hugh Rodgers; an aunt, Ruth Ann Brasaemle; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jay Rodgers, and his stepfather, Jim Byers.

Services: The family held a private service. Funeral arrangements were by Knowlton Hewins Roberts Funeral Home, Augusta, Maine.
