Marjorie Beni, age 89, of Venice, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012.

She was born in Ambridge, Pa., Oct. 15, 1923, and came to Venice from Tampa in 1971. She was a registered nurse, and worked at Venice Hospital for nine years before her retirement in 1980. Marjorie served as a nurse in the Navy Nurse Corps Reserve during World War II.

Surviving family members include her husband, Adam, of Venice; daughters, Susan Govatos of Winter Park, Fla., Marilyn Slevin of Sarasota and Carolyn Yoder of Venice; brother, David M. Woods Jr. of San Clemente, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Services: Burial will be in Venice Memorial Gardens. Farley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
