Cameron F. Buchanan, of Venice, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at the age of 73.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Buchanan; daughters Laurie (Stephen) Miller, MaryCarol (Clark) Maxam and Lynn (Rob) Oberhausen; grandchildren Andrew (Mary Anne), James, Kathryn and Jacob Miller, Rachel and Cameron Maxam, Taylor and Troy Oberhausen; brother Dean Buchanan; and his constant companion, his dog Emma.

Cameron was the founder of Pontiac Area Transitional Housing. He was also very active in Lighthouse of Oakland County and Teamworks of Lapeer and was president of both the American Cancer Society in Lapeer and the AACA Car Club in Venice. Cameron was also known for his role as Santa Claus for Children’s First in Sarasota.

Services: A Memorial Service took place at noon, Saturday, Oct. 20, at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, Capstick Chapel, Lapeer.
