Dog in hot car. This is a message to the man who was shopping at Sweetbay Wednesday afternoon and left his dog in the Suburban with all the windows up, no motor running or air conditioning. We found the dog; he was frantic, barking and jumping back and forth. We went in Sweetbay, and they announced on the loudspeaker that there was a dog in a car outside. He didn’t do anything, but continued shopping. Took his old time getting out to the Suburban, opened the rear hatch, put his stuff in there, took the cart over to the cart area and finally went into the car. He never said a word. He is a real weasel of a person. On his dash was a contractor’s sign. People who do this ought to be locked in a van for a long time. Not good.
No to North Port. A meeting between the Venice City Council and North Port commissioners is not a good idea. Too many negative vibrations coming from that city just to the south of us. The Venice City Council should not give credibility to some of the nonsense going on in North Port; a joint meeting might just do that. A joint meeting could only benefit North Port regardless of what is discussed at the meeting. Again, only good for North Port. The city of Venice, at least for now, should stay clear of the situation.
