“When you are bored, you just watch the clock,” a middle-school girl told me. Then her face erupted in a smile as she described her STEMsmart science class. “It is fun when you are engaged in class, because you want to do more, you want to study hard and work more.”

Middle and high school students in Sarasota County are doing more, and STEMsmart Week has been celebrating their success while opening their eyes to career opportunities.
