Diane Fuchs, the 2013 President of the Venice Area Board of Realtors, said that home sales continue to be strong. “Yes, even though our snowbird season is over, we are still very busy selling homes and condos with numerous buyers wanting to buy here in Venice and the surrounding areas,” she said.

The shortage of properties for sale in the Venice area is getting worse, according to details provided by Venice Area Board of Realtors.

Since May of 2007 when there were 3,857 listings in the current inventory, the total has collapsed, falling by roughly 3,000 in the last month to a mere 855. This lack of supply in terms of months of inventory is indicated dramatically in the fall from 24.3 months in 2007 to less than three months, specifically 2.8 in May of 2013.
