No one says the building industry is back like gangbusters, but some are optimistic about 2013 with the South Sarasota, West Charlotte and Englewood areas emerging as leaders in much of the new housing activity in the region.

“We’ve seen an uptick,” said Suzanne Graham, president-elect of the Florida Home Builders Association.
