NORTH PORT — A nightmarish top of the first inning proved to be fatal for the North Port High School baseball team as the Bobcats fell to Sarasota 8-3 in their season opener Wednesday night.

The Sailors (1-0) scored six runs in the top of the first, including three straight home runs. Dylan Busby smashed a two-run home run, followed by solo blasts from Jason Sierra and Brandon Chapman. The Sailors also clubbed three doubles in the inning.
