A Venice High student suffering from seizures was Bayflited by helicopter from a football practice field on campus to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton on Thursday, causing a flurry of activity and two brief lockdowns.

The helicopter, which landed between Venice High and adjoining Venice Elementary, caused a lockdown at both campuses to clear students from the landing zone for fear of blasting them with tiny dirt pellets during landing and takeoff.
