Artist Tonya Sauppe points to some of the damaged areas of "Chef Mario Turtali" which she painted for the Venice Art Center's Sea Venice Project.
Sometime between 8 p.m. on Jan. 2 and 10 a.m. on Jan. 3, a seashell-topped pizza was stolen in Centennial Park in downtown Venice.
The pizza was a fiberglass attachment to one of the Venice Art Center’s SeaVenice sea turtles and is now part of a police report about the damaged “art statue.” It was valued in the report at $2,375.
