Taking a break before covering Sharkys time capsule with soil are Mike Pachota, owner, Venice Mayor John Holic and Justin Pachota, restaurant manager. The sealed time capsule will be dug up in 25 years.
In bright sunshine on a very warm December afternoon a small crowd gathered to hear Mike Pachota, owner of Sharky’s on the Pier restaurant, 1600 Harbor Drive, talk about the items to be stored for 25 years in a time capsule.
“Our 25th anniversary was in February, and we invited guests to provide items to fill the time capsule, a pipe 36 inches long and 9 inches in diameter,” said Pachota. “It contains memorabilia from the restaurant, menus, newspapers, magazines and a prized item of mine, a windshield snowscraper shaped like a shark that we used as a promotional item years ago.”
