VPD boosts school presence

As residents in Newtown, Conn., mourn the loss 20 children and six staff members in one of the deadliest school shootings in the nation’s history, Venice police have increased patrols around area schools and day care centers.
Venice Police Chief Tom McNulty said the heightened police presence will continue throughout the week.
