Bay Indies gets tax relief
The owner of Bay Indies Mobile Home Park this week voluntarily agreed to reduce a rent hike after residents complained the hike was based on a higher property tax rate than what was ultimately adopted by the city of Venice.
Instead of the tax pass-through portion of rents going up by $144 per year, they’ll go up $44 per year, said Anthony Pinzone, past president of the Bay Indies Mobile Home Park Association, who participated in negotiations with the park management.
