Sarasota County’s procurement process came under fire again Tuesday, with County Commissioner Joe Barbetta expressing his displeasure with how Willis A. Smith Construction was picked for the Gulf Gate Library project.

Commissioners, on a motion by Commissioner Jon Thaxton, voted 4-1 to approve the consent agenda item in the amount of $65,000. Commission Chair Christine Robinson dissented.
