Flora J. DeWitt, 76, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2012.

She was born Jan. 23, 1936, in Oakland, Md.

Flora moved to Port Charlotte in 1975 from Maryland.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (nee Von) Thayer of Port Charlotte; sister, Freda Pennington of Oakland; brothers, Ernie (Connie) Swiger of Oakland, and Bill (Lillian) Swiger of Front Royal, Va.; grandson, Greg (Sarah) Thayer; great-grandsons, Mason and Hunter, all of South Carolina; and special friend, Shirley Hayostek. Flora was preceded in death by her husband, Burl.

Her family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank-you for the loving care given by her doctors, nurses and home health care.
