Sermon of the Week: A patch of sunlight
Shivering and miserable, the cold pierced through my gloves, coat and even the rain suit I was wearing. It was the end of May, and I was on a fishing boat on Lake Winnibigoshish in northern Minnesota. I had paid dearly for this fishing trip and I was determined to enjoy it. Yet I began to wonder if it was worth it as my fishing pole shook
with the shivering of my body.
Then suddenly, from out of nowhere, a patch of sunlight enveloped our boat, bringing with it a delightful warmth to us cold fishermen. After that, I think I was more interested in those patches of sunlight in the sky than in catching fish in the lake.
