Sitting quietly by herself, having her own private showing, Betsy Jones Wade looks over the list of paintings entered in the Faces & Figures exhibition on display at the Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda. “Prima Materia,” a painting of a nude woman by Catherine Lucas, won Best of Show and was awarded $2,000, sponsored by the VAC Endowment Trust. The announcement was made during an awards reception Thursday evening. The exhibit, which will hang until March 8, was juried by Allan R. Banks. More photos on page 16.
