The School District of DeSoto board met Tuesday for the last time in 2012, but on a somber note as the board acknowledged the outstanding work the Nocatee Elementary School staff did upon the death of interim Assistant Principal Nakisha Hill, who passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 29.

Her cause of death has yet to be released.
