PORT CHARLOTTE — This town has the potential of becoming a baseball tournament destination for thousands of athletes in Florida, and perhaps hundreds from out of state, according to a draft feasibility study for a Ripken Experience baseball complex in Port Charlotte.

The study, conducted by Ripken Design, suggests Charlotte County build a six-field complex at the site of what is now North County Regional Park in Murdock
Village. The complex would include baseball and softball fields for kids up to age 14, replete with dugouts, backstops, fences and synthetic turf.
