PORT CHARLOTTE — The final piece of the 40-man roster reported to spring training early
Friday morning, one day prior to today’s mandated report date for position players. That everyone came to camp early, and voluntarily so, is a sign Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon said complements a lot of hard work in the offseason to speak of the team’s willingness to continue its string of recent success.
That everyone reported healthy and got serious about workouts immediately, he added, was a further testament to the Rays wanting to live up to the expectations placed on them by their fans, teammates and
organization.
