Charlotte County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit detectives arrested a 61-year-old man for masturbating in front of a 6-year-old girl. Arrested was Wallace Wendell Wesley of the 1500 block of Woodlawn Avenue, Punta Gorda.

CCSO was called at 5:50 p.m. Thursday by a woman who saw Wesley sitting in a chair in his driveway across from the girl, who was also sitting in a chair. The witness said Wesley was masturbating in front of the girl and when the woman yelled at him, Wesley stopped. The girl was taken to the CCSO major crimes office for a forensic interview and revealed what she saw. Based on the witness and the girl’s statements, detectives located Wesley at his home. He denied masturbating in front of the girl. He was arrested and taken to the Charlotte County Jail, where he remains on no bond.
