Buna I. “Jean” Loose, 79, a longtime resident of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, in Colquitt, Ga.

She was born June 23, 1933, in Clarksville, Tenn.

Jean and her husband of 45 years, James W. Loose Jr., moved to Port Charlotte in 1972, where she finished raising their six children. She was the former Assistant Manager for American Legion Post 110 in Port Charlotte. She later moved to Newton, Ga., where she and her daughter, Wanda, owned and operated a Tree Plantation.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Carol Loose, Linda (Russell) Trent and Wanda Loose; son, Gary W. Loose; grandchildren, Sarah, Russell, Niiki, Jayden, John and Sean; great-grandchildren, Derek, Russell, Riley and Caleb; two great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Sensing; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1999; and son, William R. “Bill” Loose, in 2010.

Viewing will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel. The Funeral Service is set for 10 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at the funeral home. Committal and interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jean’s name are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to extend condolences to the family and sign the memory book.

Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel.
