Thomas M. Curtis
Thomas M. Curtis, 49, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013.
He was born April 26, 1963, in Calumet, Mich.
Thomas moved to Port Charlotte many years ago. After graduating from Calumet High School in 1981, he worked for the Water and Environmental Services until impaired by a long-term illness. Thomas attended Charlotte Vo-Tech and was a graduate of Edison Community College. He was a member of the Community Church of Calumet before moving to Florida, where he became a member of St. John the Apostle Church of Fort Myers, Fla.
Thomas is survived by his parents, Fortunate and Nathaleen Curtis of Lac LaBelle; brother, Gale (Candy) of Lac LaBelle; sisters, Debbie (Fran) Gariepy of Dollar Bay, Susie (Kurt) Abramson of Calumet, and Candy Curtis of AcWorth, Ga.; companion, Mark Playford of Port Charlotte; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Fortunate Curtis Jr.
Family and friends will gather from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Kays-Ponger Uselton Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 from the funeral home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
