Frances Perrella
Frances Perrella, 93, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013.
She was born Francesca Tomasello May 25, 1919, in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Antonio and Fortunata (nee Manteria) Tomasello, who immigrated from Messina, Sicily.
Francis was the 14th of 15 children which included sisters, Marianna, Gerolima, Carmella, Vita, Katharina, Auriella, Margarete and brother, Vito. She and Alfonso were married in Torre del Greco, Naples, Italy in 1952. Frances moved to Port Charlotte in 1987, from Centereach, N.Y. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, mother to her family and children, and nanny to her three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Frances was a wonderful baker and cook. She enjoyed sharing her cookies and recipes with family and friends. Some of her legacies are her famous Testi Tuki and Sesame cookies.
She is survived by her daughters, Vittoria Perrella, and Annette (John) Fiedler; grandchildren, Jonathan (Brandy) Fiedler, Cristina (Ryan) Fiedler, and Victoria Martin; great-grandchildren, Mikaela Martin and Joslyn Fiedler; and dear friends, Teresa and Floyd. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by eight sisters; brother; beloved husband, Alfonso Perrella; son-in-law, Clarence Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Roberson Funeral Home, Punta Gorda Chapel with a Wake Service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at San Antonio Catholic Church, Port Charlotte. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens of Port Charlotte. Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to extend condolences to the family and sign the memorybook.
