Ernest V. Harper

Ernest V. Harper, 91, of Leesburg, Fla., and formerly of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012.

He was born Aug. 1, 1921, in Jackson, Miss.

Ernest was a retired automotive engineer. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor and veteran of World War II U. S. Navy. Ernest was honorably discharged from the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1955, as a Lieutenant, JG.

He is survived by his daughter, Rose Marie Sierra of Venice, Fla.; son, Jerry Harper of Biloxi, Miss.; and grandchildren, Gregory and Alison. Ernest was preceded in death by his wife, Helen A. Harper.

Interment and committal services with military honors a U.S. Navy Honor Guard will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla., Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to sign the memorybook, and extend condolences to the family.

Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home and Crematory, Port Charlotte Chapel.
