Marian M. Kasch

Marian M. Kasch, 84, of Port Charlotte, Fla., went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte.

She was born Jan. 19, 1928, in Gainesville, Fla., to Joseph and Cathalene Pratt.

Marian was a member of Lutheran Church of the Cross in Port Charlotte, and also was involved in the Prayer Chain ministry. She was the leader of Girl Scout Troop 699 in Sterling Heights, Mich., for many years, before moving to Florida in 1986. Marian was a mentor and inspiration to many young girls. She was an avid bridge player at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County, Fla., in Port Charlotte. Marian will be remembered by her family as a woman of great faith, intelligence and wisdom. She had great compassion for the needy and animals, and taught her children to do the same. Marian devoted her entire life to the care of her family. She was a diligent prayer warrior.

Marian is survived by her sons, Paul M. Kasch and Matthew (Kimberly) Kasch, both of Port Charlotte; daughters, Gayle S. Kasch of Port Charlotte, and Lynn (William) Lenfest of Rochester, N.H.; brother, Dr. Charles (Betty) Pratt of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; sister, Cathalene (Marne) Miller of Toledo, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Kasch.

A visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Lutheran Church of the Cross in Port Charlotte. The Rev. Kenneth Redmann will officiate. Inurnment will be held at a later date by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army at Charlotte County Corps, P.O. Box 495126, Port Charlotte, FL 33949. Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to extend condolences to the family and sign the memory book.
