Donna J. Franz, 49, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away unexpectedly at her home in Port Charlotte.

She was born April 30, 1962, in Akron, Ohio.

Donna graduated from Buchtel High School in 1980. She was a longtime member of Pilgrim United Church, and found true happiness by loving her family and giving back to those in need. Donna was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, and will forever be missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Thomas Franz; her father, William G. Schwaberow of Osprey, Fla.; daughter, Sara Kraft of Port Charlotte; three sons, Sean Tidwell of San Antonio, Texas, Adam Franz and Joshua Franz; a sister, Deborah A. Burress of Hartville, Ohio; brother, Daniel G. Schwaberow of Hartville; and three grandchildren, Ethan, Myleigh and Roman.

A family gathering will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a memorial service at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel. Inurnment will be held at a later date by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Donna Franz to the American Cancer Society, 992 Tamiami Trail, Unit C-2, Port Charlotte, FL 33953.
