Edward T. Knorr Sr.

Edward T. “Ed” Knorr Sr., 80, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012.

He was born Feb. 20, 1931, in Elizabeth, N.J., the son of Alfred and Cecelia (nee Hynes) Knorr.

Ed served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked in the Sales Office at Lakewood Village and Electro Plater in Mamaroneck, N.Y., and moved to Punta Gorda from Riverdale, N.J., in 1988. Ed enjoyed bowling, reading and was a former youth sports coach in Bricktown, N.J.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 37 years, Phyllis; daughters, Janice Knorr of Bricktown, and Lisa (Glenn) Frankel of Wasilla, Ark.; sons, Edward Knorr Jr., of Bricktown, Thomas (Terry) Knorr of Lenexa, Kan., Glenn Dispoto of Dania Beach, Fla., Mark (Victoria) Dispoto of North Port, Fla., and Gregg (Diane) Dispoto of Jacksonville, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Memorial donations may be made to TideWell Hospice Inc., 1144 Veronica St., Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
