Daniel Cellamare Sr.

Daniel Cellamare Sr., 65, of Port Charlotte, Fla., lost his battle with cancer Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved his family to Port Charlotte in 1988.

Daniel was very passionate about his family, friends and his love for wildlife. He loved playing baseball, fishing and, most of all, riding his motorcycle. Daniel served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1968.

He is survived by the love of his life, Katherine Cellamare; sons, Daniel (Kimberly) Cellamare Jr. and Joseph (Darlene) Cellamare, all of Port Charlotte, Vincent Cellamare of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Nicholas (Shannon) Cellamare of Fort Myers, Fla.; sisters, Raffela (Ron) Ashford and Loretta (Byron) Provost, both of Lakeland, Fla.; brother, Michael (Susan) Cellamare of Valrico, Fla.; grandchildren, Chase, Nicholas and Marissa; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and treasured friends.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at San Antonio Catholic Church, 24445 Rampart Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33980. Following the Funeral Mass, we will proceed to Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to TideWell Hospice House of Port Charlotte, 1144 Veronica St., Port Charlotte, FL 33952.

Special thanks to everyone at the Hospice House for taking such awesome care of Dad.
