Joshua A. Mote
Joshua Asa Mote, 18, passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Fla., due to a tragic car accident.
He was born June 29, 1993, to Erin Sechrest and Krishna Mote in Sarasota, Fla.
Growing up in Sarasota, Joshua attended Southside Elementary and Brookside Middle School, until moving to the Port Charlotte, Fla., area where he attended Port Charlotte High School, North Port High School, and The Academy at Charlotte Technical Center. During his life, Joshua participated in many extracurricular activities, including baseball, basketball, BMX bike racing, tae kwon do, and was a member of the Interact Club. His hobbies included riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers, fishing, playing video games, talking to girls, cracking jokes, and hanging out with his friends.
Joshua leaves behind his mother, Erin Sechrest; father, Krishna Mote; dad, Tony Green Jr.; sister, Malaina Mote; brother, Krishna Mote; grandmother, Carole Sechrest; great-grandmother, Wilma Burch; aunts, Ranae Sechrest, and Sadik and Ashia Mote; uncle, Larry Mote; grandparents, Wille Mae and Tony Green Sr.; and special friend, Kiana Artis.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at St. Mary Primitive Baptist Church, 605 Mary St., Punta Gorda, FL 33590.
