Deborah L. Jakobot

Deborah “Debbie” Libby Jakobot, 77, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Royal Palm Retirement Center in Port Charlotte.

She was born Nov. 1, 1934, in Princeton, Maine, to Homer and Elsie Libby.

Debbie moved from Niantic, Conn., to Port Charlotte in 1972, with her husband, Al, and was employed as a clerk at Punta Gorda City Hall. She enjoyed fishing and traveling to Big Lake, Maine, where she spent many of her memorable earlier years.

Deborah is survived by her daughter, Susan (William) Cash of North Port, Fla.; son, David Jakobot of Breckinridge, Texas; granddaughter, Jennifer (Richard) Stober of North Haven, Conn.; grandson, Stephen Jakobot of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two great-grandsons, Ricky and Colby Stober; sister-in-laws, Phyllis Zito of Wethersfield, Conn., and Jane Skowronek of Port Charlotte; devoted niece, Jean McLeod of Whitehall, N.Y.; nephew, Norman McLeod, Jr.; two great-nieces; and four great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alfonse “Al” Jakobot, in 2006; sister, Edith McLeod of Whitehall; and brother, Jim Libby of Port Charlotte.
