Laura Morris
Laura (Adams) Morris, 79, of Port Charlotte, Fla., and went to be with Jesus Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012.
She was born Aug. 20, 1932, in Owensboro, Ky., and resided there until the past few years.
Laura currently lived in Port Charlotte, where she loved playing golf, especially with the ladies group of 18-holers, and taking care of her dog, Nyna.
Special thanks to Annette Wimsatt, Eric Wimsatt and Celesta Johnson, who were with her until the end; Brenda (Bill) Smith, my adopted sister; the neighbors who helped out so much; Dr. Manish Kapadia, Dr. Justino Silverstre, Dr. Douglas Radish and wife Pat; Village Place Rehab; and TideWell Hospice. We are blessed.
She is survived by two children, Jack Bowlds of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Jacqueline (Rod) Morris White of El Paso, Texas; sister, Catherine Gober of Indianapolis, Ind.; brother, Robert Mercer of Las Vegas, Nev.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a niece; nephews; and lots of good friends, especially the Wimsatt family, who is and has always been our extended family.
A memorial service will be held Monday, March 19, 2012, in Kentucky, with a celebration of her life in Port Charlotte at the end of March. Contact jacmwhite@gmail.com for further information. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to TideWell Hospice, or to a charity of your choice.
