Karen Jean McMasters, 61, of Deep Creek, Fla., passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012.

She was the daughter of Theodore and Emma (nee Berry) Matthew, born June 28, 1950.

Karen was a strong woman known for her kind heart, feisty spirit, red hair, blue eyes and beautiful freckles. She was a math whiz and had the cleanest house in town. Heaven will be sparkling with Karen as a resident and, Mom, we love you.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Vickie (Tory) Osborne, Samantha (Kevin) Phillips, Jane (Chad) Little and Jesse (Chris) Corbett, all of North Port, Fla.; grandchildren, C.J., Brandt, Evan, Trevor, Richard “Bubba” and Van.; siblings, Betty, Sissy, Bobby and Barbie, all of Springfield, Ill.; many nieces and nephews; and close friend, Mike Treanor of Fort Myers, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charlie; sister, Helen; and longtime partner, Manny Presilla.
