Roger E. James, 58, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 25, 1953, in Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada, to Benjamin and Isabel (nee Orr) James, and moved to this area 42 years ago from Warner Robbins, Ga.

Roger worked as a manager for an air-conditioning company.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sue (nee Lindquist) James of Port Charlotte; sons, Jason (Dawn) Lindquist James and Benjamin Gerald James, both of Port Charlotte; mother, Isabel James of Punta Gorda, Fla.; sister, Sandra (George) James-Nogaj of Port Charlotte; sister-in-law, Anna (Michael) Vann of North Fort Myers, Fla.; brother-in-law, Gerald Lindquist of Port Charlotte; and grandchildren, Jason Logan James and Alexa Marie James.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at Paul Schelm Funeral Home, 12687 S.W. County Road 769 (Kings Highway), Lake Suzy, Fla. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda.
