Local police officer graduates from leadership seminar

Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell receives a plaque from David F. Harvey, executive director of the Florida Sheriffs Risk Management Fund. Prummell's office recently won the fund's Loss Control Annual Safety Award for excellence in risk management and loss control.





The Award was announced at the Florida Sheriffs Association Summer Conference held in Marco Island on August 3. Executive Director David F. Harvey of the FSRMF made a visit to the SheriffÂ’s Office to personally present the plaque to Sheriff Prummell on Tuesday September 24.

Congratulations to Punta Gorda Police Capt. Jason Ciaschini. He recently graduated from the Future Law Enforcement Executive Seminar in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., according to a PGPD press release.

The 40-hour executive- development course, sponsored by the Florida Police Chiefs Association and the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute, was developed for up-and-coming command officers preparing for future chief executive leadership positions.
