Stamoulis mishandling elections supervisor office
The three qualities most applicable to determining our next supervisor of elections are skilled management of the office, professional issue management and forthright service to hold the public trust. These qualities are best illustrated through the following issues.
The incumbent falsely claimed to cut the budget 40 percent. I have an MBA and analyzed every expenditure from 2003 to present. In 2007-08 a state-mandated replacement of voting equipment temporarily doubled the budget from $1.6 million to $3.2 million. The project drew to a close during the first year of the incumbent’s term allowing the illusion of a large budget cut. However, local government budgets are created and approved the year before. The incumbent’s predecessor actually made the cut bringing the budget back down to $2 million where it remains today.
