This six-lane are area of Port Charlotte's Bowland, called “Boutique,” can be curtained off for private events, whether for birthdays, weddings, business parties or any other occasion. If videos are shown, three screens are drawn down for all to see from both sides and the middle of the room. Prior to a scheduled event, General Manager Mary McDonald and Tom Janosik, the head mechanic, discuss what the needs for that particular party are.

Tim McDonald is the “league specialist” at Bowland, and the general manager is Mary McDonald, his mother. They say the monitor on the counter is where bowlers can view their league’s standings and where they get other information, such as in which of the 24 lanes their league is playing.

Bowland of Port Charlotte recently underwent a complete remodeling, which included a repainting of the entire building.
The outside was completed early this month. The sanding and painting of all railings took place a week ago. Murals also were painted above the pin decks.
