PUNTA GORDA — Make this city pedestrian friendly and the people will come. Then the businesses will follow to serve them and fill in the vacant lots downtown.

That’s the theory behind a vision that Team Punta Gorda’s architectural committee presented to the City Council on Wednesday. The presentation included a conceptual plan that would link this city’s Harborwalk to a series of proposed major pedestrian rest areas and promenades downtown.
