PORT CHARLOTTE — Kenya Yancy homered and drove in four runs, and pitcher Hannah Loyer pitched two-hit ball as Braden River routed Port Charlotte 12-0 in a District 7A-11 contest that ended after six innings because of the mercy rule at Pirate Cove on Tuesday.
Braden River (11-3, 7-0) collected 16 hits, including three each from Yancy, Bethany Keen and Jessica Cadorette, to continue its stranglehold on the district lead. Port Charlotte managed three runners all night to remain winless in district play.
