In keeping with state and federal mandates, the Charlotte County Health Department is moving away from offering primary-care services to the county’s indigent population, instead redirecting its efforts to core public-health issues, CCHD Director Henry Kurban said.

That move will mean phasing out its clinic operations in Port Charlotte and Englewood, and helping current primary-care patients to find a new solution.
