NORTH PORT — Two men were arrested Friday as part of a “small-scale” operation aimed at nabbing sexual predators of underage girls online, according to North Port Police Chief Kevin Vespia, who added that the Department of Homeland Security aided in the investigation.
Arrested were Jason Michael Palmer, 23, of the 3700 block of Island Club Drive, North Port; and Gary James Meyers, 24, of Fort Myers. Palmer was charged with using an electronic device to distribute nudity to a minor and traveling to meet a minor for sexual purposes; Meyers was charged with using a computer service or device to seduce or solicit a child and traveling to meet a minor for sexual purposes.
